Treasury List: All Things Owl

It's so much fun creating a treasury list on Etsy! A selection of items (such as pendants, sketches, paintings, purses, brooches, necklaces, earrings etc) is put together to feature many other sellers who draw their inspiration from owls too! Lots of competition but that's what makes it fun and exciting!:)

Blacky the Owl: Handmade Unique Bronze Brooch - Chain

Blacky is a chubby little owl that has very distinct big eyes (iconic of owls) and an intricate detailed body. Black designed and handcrafted Blacky so you can have him accompany you as a brooch OR a chain, or even both at the same time! Blacky can be worn on your hat, with your scarf, on your coat and many other ways!!

Owl "Blacky" was first attached to the bronze cameo casing and details such as the chain, feather and leaves charms were added. Black fabric paint was then used to fill up the remaining areas in the casing. This is another piece of experiment that seems to have been quite successful! The fabric paint provides a shiny black finish to the brooch and accentuates the centerpiece placed in the cameo casing.

SOLD! Dual Length Unique Brass Owl Necklace - worn Long OR Short

Patch designed this unique and authentic brass owl necklace to be worn in 2 different ways – long OR short. She's getting really good at this. It’s not just the chain’s design that we’re excited about…It’s also the originality of the concept that we’re very eager to share !! :)

The brass owl has movable parts, making it a very ‘lively’ pendant to wear. The black beads are specially designed and crafted to create an asymmetry look, giving this chain its unique appearance.
In the above 3 pictures, you can see the necklace worn as i) a shorter version where the additional black beads hang comfortably on the right side of your chest when you wear it, ii) a longer version where the asymmetrical design sits on the left side of your torso and iii) looping the charm in place using a 'tear-drop' design just above the owl.

The diagram illustrates how to hook the chain in order to wear the necklace (A) long or (B) short.

Experimentation #001

Black wanted to try something different. Afterall, she was into painting but just a hugh procrastinator. Nothing much gets done most of the time.
Here, for the purpose of experimentation, she used royalty free images from the net with a light wash of yellow ochre for background.
If this works, Black should try doing the same with some of her original paintings instead of images from the net.

Images with background were cut to shape and 'glazed' in place. Think they look quite nice! Could work quite well as brooches or rings but there are definitely many other possibilities that can be explored!
